Middle East and North Africa landscape analysis

In partnership with UNICEF, IGN conducted a landscape analysis of national iodine programs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region from February 2022 to March 2023. Utilizing a mixed methodology that included document reviews, field input, stakeholder engagement, and country visits to Sudan, Egypt, and Iraq, the analysis aimed to evaluate the current status of iodine nutrition and salt iodization efforts across the region. National workshops in Sudan and Egypt, along with a regional workshop in Amman, Jordan, on January 24-25, 2023, facilitated the sharing of findings and the formulation of action plans.
